Eclipse Productions was launched in 1999 by a small group of friends who wanted to produce shows of a high quality, and to give opportunities to many 'undiscovered' talents, not performing with the more well established groups. The team at that time had all been members of a range of local societies and realised that the type of show and quality could vary a lot, so with this in mind, Eclipse embarked upon the inaugural production, Little Shop of Horrors.
The show was a critical success, with audiences applauding the talented cast, band and crew, as well as the slick and simple staging. Spurred on by this, the group has now gone from strength to strength, winning multiple awards and receiving high acclaim for our range of shows and opportunities for performers of all types.
Having celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2009, Eclipse continues to produce quality amateur theatre and discover new talent, wherever it may be lurking. Eclipse are now run by an enthusiastic and talented group of individuals who enjoy the buzz that good theatre can give on and off stage.
With audience enjoyment being most important, we have forged ahead with all varieties of theatre, from music halls and plays to concerts and musicals. On top of the enjoyment, raising over £2500 for charitable causes has meant that we have also been able to support some very worthy causes, such as Breast Cancer Support, Emma's Life Appeal and the Bluebird Foundation, and will continue to do so as long as we can.
We make sure that our own high standards are consistently met, and pride ourselves on attracting the best directors and performers, making sure that our shows are certain to provide a fantastic night out for theatre goers.
